Conversion by coercion

Like most Americans, I was relieved and glad to hear that the Fox News journalists, Steve Centanni and Olaf Wiig, were released by their Moslem captors, albeit after they were shown in a videotape making a conversion to Islam.
But some aspects of this story are troubling. Now I suppose it's understandable that, at the point of a gun, someone might be willing to say whatever one is told to say, in hopes of staying alive. But it seems that Centanni's comments
I hope that this never scares a single journalist away from coming to Gaza to cover the story because the Palestinian people are very beautiful and kind hearted," Centanni told reporters. "The world needs to know more about them. Don't be discouraged."
[...]My biggest concern really is that as a result of what happened to us, foreign journalists will be discouraged from coming to tell the story and that would be a great tragedy for the people of Palestine," he said. "You guys need us on the streets, and you need people to be aware of the story."
seem a little much for someone who was coerced into a 'conversion to Islam. Yes, I know about 'Stockholm Syndrome' and about the psychological pressures hostages are subject to. I suppose I see these men as emblematic of all of us in the West. In a sense, since we have recklessly welcomed mass numbers of Mohammedans into our midst, and our leaders are insistent on their presence among us, we are all hostages to the Moslem terrorists. We have governments in the West which tell us, point-blank, that there WILL be terror attacks. They are in effect saying 'sorry, don't look to us for protection; it's too politically risky, you're on your own.' If these trends continue, as Moslems grow in numbers and in influence in the West, we will be under the sentence of conversion or death, as the Fox journos were. Will we have the strength to stand up, or will we meekly accept our defeat?
And it's worth remembering that the multicultural ideology, on which the Moslem presence in our countries depends, is also a belief system that requires coercion and force to prevail.
And it's worth remembering that no true belief system has to be forced on people, as liberalism and Islam do.
